7/30/2010 - Lake Presidential Shotmaking Clinic
Friday July 30th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Cost is $40. This beginners clinic focuses on the fundamentals and how to work on them. Leanr how to make the golf ball behave and take that info to the golf course and play. RSVP to the golf shop at 301-627-8577.

8/2/2010 - Fore Autism Golf Tournament
The Autism Science Foundation and TPC Avenel in Potomac are working together to raise critical funds for autism research. Proceeds will be used to support researchers in submitting and sharing important autism research data via the National Database for Autism Research. The event will begin at 10am with breakfast and putting practice, followed by a noon tee time. After 18 holes of golf, guests will enjoy cocktails and a gala dinner. There will be lots of fun activities throughout the day including a "hole in one" contest for a Mercedes CLK, a putting contest, a "longest drive" contest, and a silent auction with great once-in-a-lifetime sports packages available.

8/7/2010 - 1st Annual Manor Summer Better-Ball
Head to the Manor Club in Farmville, VA on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 - 9 am shotgun start - 2 person better-ball, 80% of handicap - cost ($65/person) includes golf, cart, lunch and prizes. A certified USGA handicap index is required for all players. Sign-up by calling the proshop at 434-392-2244.

Penderbrook's PGA Championship Edition of their Major Mondays is a 9:00am shotgun start. Cost: $41. Format: modified Stableford scoring – individual play. Price Includes: Greens Fee/Cart Fee, Lunch Buffet Following Golf, 2 Drink Tickets, and Award Ceremony/Prizes. 8/23/2010 - 5th Annual Pink Links Open
Monday, 23 August at Hidden Creek Country Club in Reston, VA to benefit Breast Cancer Network of Strength Mid-Atlantic. Shotgun start at 1:00 pm for this Captain’s Choice event open to both men and women golfers. Cost is $125/person before June 30th, and $150/person after June 30th. Includes greens fees, cart, lunch, dinner, range balls, gift bag, putting contest, on course activities, and more. 9/12/2010 - "Driving for Surviving" Melanoma Charity Golf Classic
The Ashley Fister Cole Foundation will be hosting its 8th annual “Driving for Surviving” Melanoma Charity Golf Classic at Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville, VA on Sunday, September 12, 2010. This charity event, has raised over $200,000 for melanoma research programs and trial studies conducted by Dr. Wen-Jen Hwu at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The event has screened hundreds of golfers and volunteers for skin cancer thanks for the doctors from M. D. Anderson.
