Congratulations to Dennis A. Holland, the newest member of the Waggle.com Hole-In-One Club.

Here’s the story in his own words…

“On 07-20-14, at Penderbrook Golf Club in Fairfax, VA, I hit a 90 degree wedge on hole #13, par 3 at 90 yards, my ball hit about a yard or so in front of the flag, went past the flag and drew back to the hole, and rested against the flag pole, then dropping before we could reach the green. Final score 74.”

#13 at Penderbrook is a tricky little Par 3 over water with a wide but not deep green.

Congratulations to our good friend Milton Zepp! He spent his winter in Phoenix, Arizona. On Saturday Februaury 25, 2012 he was playing at Trilogy Golf Club in Vistancia and got his 2nd hole-in-one.

Here’s his story…

The temp was around 60 degrees with a clear blue sky. I was paired up with a father son from California also on holiday. We were playing the white tees. The second hole has a duck pond on the left and two big sand traps on the right. It’s 149 yards to center green, pin in front, Sky Caddie said 141.

I swung my seven iron and my new Nike One ball hit the green and with one bounce went into the hole.

For the young boy Nick (age 13) it was his first time to witness a hole in one and was more excited then I. We saw the cart girl on the next hole and drinks for all.

The course registered my hole-in-one and the two witnesses signed the form. Trilogy presented me with a free round of golf certificate so I went back Monday to play again.

By the way, Milton says, the Trilogy Golf Club a great golf experience if you ever get to Phoenix. You will love this course.

On February 27th, Jerry Clift aced the 110 yard hole #5 to take home the prize money.

So congratulations Jerry… we hope the prize covered your bar tab that day

Want to see what a hole-in-one looks like? You can watch Jerry’s right here…

If you’re not familair with the Charitee Hole concept here is the scoop…

1. You buy a Charitee Hole in One ticket in the Pro shop. When you get to Hole #5 you enter your ticket number in the Kiosk, the Kiosk turns the cameras on. Then you get ready, take your shot. If you don’t get the elusive Hole in One or Within the flagstick, you still get a nice beverage after your round and better luck next time.

2. Just for playing, you win! You can’t lose. You get your money back even if you don’t hit a winning shot. Just for participating in the “Charitee Challenge” the bottom part of your ticket will print out a coupon for; Charitee Golf pays for your first drink after your round (domestic draft beer, fountain soda or coffee), and $5 off any future round where your cart and green fee are over $30.

3. Help a great cause! $500 will be donated to Lee’s Hill Junior Golfers Camps in the name of each Hole in One winner. If there are no winners at the course during the calendar year, $500 will be donated to Lee’s Hill Junior Golfers Camps in the name of the golf course.

4. Hole In Ones Happen! The Charitee Hole at Lees Hill is Hole #5. So far they have had 2 winners and many “Within the Flagstick” winners!

5. Hit a Hole in One and win the Progressive Jackpot! Each Day’s Hole in One Progressive Jackpot is displayed on a sign in the pro shop.

6. Hit it within the Flagstick and Win!!! If your tee shot on Hole #5 is within the flagstick, you win that day’s Close to the Pin Jackpot.

On 12/23/2010 I was playing on my home course, Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in Cologne N.J. The temperature was 39 degrees and the wind was gusting 25 to 35 mph. I was playing with one other crazy person since it was so cold. There were only 6 people that played the course that day.

We got to the 11th hole which is a 110 yard par 3. The wind was directly in our face so I decided to hit a 7 iron.

The greens were pretty hard from frost. My Nike ball hit the green short of the pin and pop up in the air we thought it went off of the back. When we got to the green we did not see the ball so we went to the back and could not find the ball.

My witness Alan Schmidt looked in the hole and there it was. I couldn’t believe it went in the hole. What a thrill to get a hole in one under these conditions.

Hole #12 – 159 yds – Par 3

I had my first Hole in One on May 15, 2010 at the 12th hole at the Links at Gettysburg. The hole was playing 159 yards into the wind. The pin was on the back shelf. I hit my 5 wood. The shot landed on the green bounce and rolled to the pin. I heard it hit the pin but wasn’t sure it had gone into the hole until the group on the 10th tee, which overlooks the green, started to yell and cheer. It was a great feeling, but a long time coming.

Hole #15 – 152 yds – Par 3

We had eight in our group and we were the second group of four. The snack cart was parked at the 15th, as was our previous foursome. The hole was perfect, 152 yards. I selected my seven iron, got lucky and saw the ball fade slightly to the left. I knew it was going to be close, it was a good shot, our foursome in front started cheering on, and what do you know, a hole in one. The experience was truly a once in lifetime for me. We capped it off with celebration drinks at Ruth Chris Steakhouse at the course, and then 30 minutes in the parking lot listening to 60’s groups singing our favorites. Life is good.
