Actually “sneaks in the back door through Sears” would be more appropriate than “invades”. But either way, they’re here.
Edwin Watts Golf is one of the largest golf retailers in the country. Their stores are primarily located in the South, from the East coast through Texas. Recently though they have been testing other markets by leasing space in established Sears stores.
In the past several months three Edwin Watts Golf locations have opened in our area. They are co-located in Sears stores in Columbia and Silver Spring, Maryland and Falls Church, Virginia.
Recently we visited the Falls Church Edwin Watts. It is tucked away in the lower level near the tools and home & garden section of the Sears at Seven Corners. Here we met sales associate Colin O’Neill who showed us around.
The golf shop is not huge but had a nice selection of the top name brands as well as some more moderately priced options. In addition to clubs there is golf clothing and accessories. And items not carried locally can be shipped directly from Edwin Watts. The staff was very friendly and the shop was neat and tidy.
Edwin Watt’s area in Sears had a nice green for testing putters and a hitting bay for trying the latest clubs. Also, we were told that a launch monitor for custom fittings would be coming soon.
So if you’re in the area check them out for yourself and see what you think.
