2011 Junior Golf Camps at Golf Gauntlet

Golf Gauntlet in Fredericksburg, VA is offering the following 2011 Junior Golf Camps for kids of all ages.

Get Golf Ready Level 0 Ages 6 and under

– Camps will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday
– June 26, July 24, August 7 & August 28
– Camp Overview:  Students will gain knowledge in grip, aim and set up for the full swing, putting and chipping.  Students will play “birdie ball”, “snag”, and many more games.  The goal of this level is to allow the juniors to get hooked on golf.  Instruction will be basic so that students can retain information.
– $10 per class

Get Golf Ready Level I Ages 7-10

– Camps will be held 9-10:30 AM Monday-Thursday
– June 20-23, July 5-8(tue-fri), July 18-21, August 1-4, August 15-18
– Campers are invited to play in 3 hole tournaments throughout the summer.  Sundays at 2:30: July 10 & 31, August 14 & 21.
– $99 per camp
– Camp Overview:  Juniors will be introduced to the game of golf by getting on the course.  Students will receive instruction on golf fundamentals and then have the chance to use those skills learned on the course.  Students will also play “birdie ball” and other games to help build their skills.

Get Golf Ready Level I Ages 11-15

– Camps will be held 11 AM-12:30 PM Monday-Thursday
– June 20-23, July 5-8(tue-fri), July 18-21, August 1-4, August 15-18
– Camp Overview:  Juniors will be introduced to the game of golf by getting on the course.  Students will receive instruction on golf fundamentals and then have the chance to use those skills learned on the course.  Students will also play “birdie ball” and other games to help build their skills.
– Campers are invited to play in 3 hole tournaments throughout the summer.  Sundays at 2:30: July 10 & 31, August 14 & 21.
– $99 per camp

Get Ready to Play Level II Ages 10-15

– Camps will be held 9 AM-12 PM Monday-Friday
– June 27-July 1, July 11-15, July 25-29, August 8-12, August 22-26
– Campers are invited to play in 3 hole tournaments throughout the summer.  Sundays at 2:30: July 10 & 31, August 14 & 21.
– Prerequisite:  6 Hours of professional instruction & passing evaluation.
– Objectives:  To fine tune the skills of juniors who play more than 3 rounds annually.  Fine tuning will begin with a more in depth and personal instruction on the practice facilities and on the golf course.
– Camp Overview:    Students will receive in-depth instruction in full swing, chipping, pitching, bunker play, putting, rules & etiquette.  Students will spend a majority of the camp on the course using the skills gained in “real life” situations.  Players will also participate in games and skills contests.
– Progression:  For students to progress to Level III they must shoot 65 or less for 9 holes and have approval by a SGA instructor.
– $120 per camp

Get Tournament Ready Level III Ages 11 and up

– April-July: Tuesday & Thursdays, Match Play on Sundays at 2pm
– Intermediate – Scores 65-51  5-6 PM
– Advanced – Scores 50 and below  6-7 PM
– Prerequisite:  15 hours of professional instruction & passing evaluations.
– Objectives:  Level III students will be taught advanced skills and drills.  Playing techniques that will prepare them for high school golf and tournament situations.
– Camp Overview:  The goal of this program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills it takes to play in a competitive environment.  Each month students will receive professional, in-depth instruction along with participation in weekly tournaments on Sundays at 2:00 pm.  Instructors will cover all areas of the game from rules to course management.  Students will practice on the driving range, putting green, and golf course.
– Progression: Intermediate students that shot 50 or less for 9 holes, will have the opportunity to progress to Level III Advanced.
– $99 per month
