The Waggle team ventured out for a mid-week junket at Westfields Golf Club in Clifton Virginia – a course I hadn’t played in since the summer solstice several years ago.
This Fred Couples course is certainly a great layout and offers tree lined fairways and several holes with elevation changes. There are several sets of tees to choose from (don’t pick “Boom Boom” tees unless you are REALLY good!) so you can pick your poison.
I do remember #14 as being a drivable par 4 – which although I didn’t drive did manage to birdie! Then #15 a 3-shot (for me) par 5 lead to back-to-back birds – a rarity for this lefthander! I also remembered #17 a tricky (yardage-wise) par 3 over water. Pick the right club because short is wet and long is a very difficult up and down.
One of the other reviews of this course would lead you to believe Bogeyman can’t score on this track but he sure did today – firing par on the back! His strong play helped us once again fleece two of our favorite pigeons – Bob and Craig (thanks guys!).
Give Westfields a play and tell’em Waggle.com sent you!
Lefty shot an 85 today.
