Westfields Golf Club – 6/10/2010

Whenever someone asks what I think of Westfields, I always reply “It’s one of the best courses in NOVA”.

And the funny thing is that whenever I get to play there, I always seem to enjoy the course more each time. Today was no exception.

It was hot! We had an 8:40 tee time and were soaked by time we left the practice range. But as the day went on the humidity eased up and we dried out a bit.  I was playing with a friend whom I hadn’t seen or heard from in years (I actually had thought that maybe he was dead… but he’s not) and it was just like old times.

The other funny thing about Westfields is that I never score well here – and today was no exception. This was the day of odd shots. A 3 wood line drive into the face of a bunker buried 3 inches deep, a chip shot stayed out of the hole by leaning on the pin, a long drive landed up against the base of a small tree, and so on.

As always the course was in fantastic shape, the staff was friendly and helpful, the post round lunch was tasty and beverages were cold.

Check out their website as they have a great summer deal going on right now.

Bogeyman struggled to a 97 today.
